Overview

Philippine Fun Divers is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Resort at the center of Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol, operating since February 2008. The center is co-located with Lost Horizon Beach Dive Resort (57 rooms) — accommodation can be arranged directly through the dive center. Owner Holger Horn is a PADI Master Instructor who runs IDC programs at least four times a year.

The operation is structured around a fixed daily schedule. Equipment is staged from 8AM, divers gather 8:15–8:30AM, and boats depart on time. All boats carry 100% O2, a stretcher, fire extinguisher, handheld radio, and life rings.

Courses & Training

Philippine Fun Divers covers the complete PADI pathway from Bubble Maker through IDC. Seven teaching languages makes it one of the most multilingual centers in Panglao.

Guided Diving & Operations

The 4-boat fleet covers 21 named dive sites around Panglao. Balicasag Island access is managed through the Advance Reservation System — early booking is essential since permits are limited to 300 dives per day island-wide.

  • Sites reached: Balicasag Island (max 2 dives per day under permit rules), Cabilao Island, Pamilacan Island, Doljo Point, Puntod Island, and 21 total named sites.
  • Boats: Two 62ft traditional banca boats (Kaido: 30-diver/3-dive; Raku: 14-diver/3-dive), two speedboats (15-seater Hayabusa and 8-seater Seeadler) for courses and single dives.
  • Equipment: 30 Mares BCDs (XXS–XXL), 32 Aqua Lung/ScubaPro/Apeks regulator sets, 3mm wetsuits. Annual visual inspection and 5-year hydrostatic testing on all tanks.
