Overview

Ocean Vida occupies a prime central position on Bounty Beach with 20 rooms and Sea Explorers — a PADI 5 Star IDC center — operating from directly below the restaurant. The resort has a boutique feel with attention to design details that set it apart from budget competitors along the same stretch of sand.

Reviewers consistently mention the personal touch: handwritten notes and small treats left in rooms each evening, professional yet warm staff, and a restaurant that punches above its weight for a small island property.

Accommodation & Facilities

Twenty rooms across three categories, all equipped with safety box, ceiling fan, hot shower, and terrace or balcony.

  • Deluxe: 12 sea-view rooms in a two-story beachfront building. Direct ocean views from private balconies. AC, mini bar. Two beds configurable as matrimonial.
  • Standard AC: Garden-view rooms with split-type air conditioning. Quieter setting behind the main building.
  • Standard Fan: Budget option with fan cooling. Same garden-view location and amenities minus AC.
  • Dining: Open-air oceanfront restaurant with local, Asian, and European cuisine. Fresh seafood daily. International wine list. Beach bar with cocktails and happy hour 4–6 PM.
  • Extras: Free WiFi. Gym at sister resort Buena Vida available to guests at no charge.

The 12 sea-view deluxe rooms are the standout — waking up to the ocean from a beachfront balcony on Bounty Beach is the main selling point.

Daily Experience

Pre-dawn shark dive departure followed by breakfast on the oceanfront terrace. Mid-morning dives to Gato Island or local reefs. Between dives, the gym at Buena Vida and the beach are both within minutes. The beach bar fills for happy hour at 4 PM with cocktails and fresh shakes. Dusk dives for mandarin fish round out the day before dinner at the restaurant.

Who This Is Best For

Divers who want a polished boutique experience with a top-tier PADI center integrated into the property. The sea-view deluxe rooms and 4:1 dive ratio put this at the higher end of Malapascua’s offerings without luxury resort pricing.

Couples in particular rate the location highly — Booking.com shows a 9.4 couples rating. The combination of beachfront dining, thoughtful room service, and proximity to all dive sites makes it a strong choice for dive holidays with a non-diving partner.
