Evolution is an owner-operated dive resort on Malapascua’s southern coast, set back from the main tourist strip on a quieter stretch of golden sand. The property holds both PADI 5 Star Resort and TDI 5 Star Instructor Training Facility status — one of very few operations in the Philippines rated for both recreational and technical diving.
Nick and Matt, the owners and working instructors, built the operation around small-group diving with a technical diving edge. The resort functions as a single integrated unit: rooms, restaurant, and dive center all sit within the same beachfront compound.
Sixteen rooms spread across the property in a mix of air-conditioned and fan configurations. All rooms sit close to the beach with direct garden or sea views. The resort was refurbished in 2018.
Non-divers can use the gym, explore the island on foot, or arrange day trips to Kalanggaman Island through the resort.
The dive center runs daily thresher shark dives at Monad Shoal with early morning departures around 5 AM. Up to four boat dives daily plus house reef access keep certified divers busy from dawn through dusk.
Evolution is a founding member of the Malapascua Marine Protection Fund and holds PADI’s Green Star award. A government marine sanctuary fee of 150 PHP per day plus a voluntary 50 PHP MMPF contribution applies to all divers.
