Camiguin Volcan Beach Eco Retreat & Dive Resort sits on the northwest coast of Camiguin, nestled in a palm grove between the volcanic mountains and the sea. Under German management, the property operates its own dive center with what it describes as the first house reef directly accessible from a resort on the island.

The “eco” designation reflects construction integrated into the existing landscape without terrain changes or tree removal, plus sourcing from organic farmers on the island.

Bungalows are built from local natural materials across five categories, ranging from fan-cooled to air-conditioned options.

Dive Center & Operations

The dive center includes a bridge entry point for direct water access to the house reef, eliminating boat rides for shore dives from early morning through night.

  • Training: PADI — Bubblemaker through Divemaster. Courses taught in German and English.
  • Equipment: Aqua Lung BCDs, Apeks regulators, Suunto dive computers, aluminum tanks from 8 to 15 liters. Bauer Poseidon 280 compressor. Three freshwater rinse basins, lockable dry room with individual boxes and wooden hangers.
  • Boats: Trips to Mantigue Island Nature Park, White Island, and approximately 20 dive sites around Camiguin with varying topography.
  • Guides: Local divemasters and instructors. Coral Conservation Program available for guest participation.

The house reef offers coral garden, wall, and drift diving with macro life accessible from shore. Night dives also run from the bridge entry.

Daily Experience

Morning dives launch from the bridge or by boat to nearby islands. The house reef is available anytime — gear up in the dive center, walk out, and enter via the bridge access point.

Between dives, the palm grove garden and restaurant terrace provide shaded rest areas. Restaurant Zum Kuckuck serves throughout the day with a menu covering dietary preferences from halal to kosher to vegan.

White Island is a 15-minute drive and boat ride. The Sunken Cemetery is 10 minutes by car. Motorbike rental is available at the resort for independent island exploration.
