Apo Island Beach Resort is one of only two resorts located on Apo Island itself, set within a private cove surrounded by rock formations on a white sand beach. Staying on the island places guests directly at the edge of the Apo Island Marine Sanctuary — one of the Philippines’ oldest and most successful community-managed marine protected areas.
Apo Island is 7 km off the southeastern tip of Negros Island, about 30 km south of Dumaguete. The island has a resident community of around 900 people and basic infrastructure — electricity runs for limited hours and connectivity is minimal by design.
Accommodation is simple and in keeping with the island’s environment. The resort is set in a private cove with direct beach access.
Life on Apo Island is deliberately simple. Guests wake up metres from the reef, dive before breakfast, and spend surface intervals on the beach. There is no nightlife or town infrastructure.
The resort’s dive shop has instructors on-site and indoor and outdoor classroom facilities. All major Apo Island dive sites are accessible by short boat transfer or direct shore entry.

On Apo Island, the day is shaped entirely by the sea. Early morning dives hit the sites before day-trippers arrive from the mainland. Surface intervals are on the beach, meals are at the restaurant, and evenings are quiet by necessity. Turtle encounters happen throughout the day at the coral gardens on the western side of the island.
Divers who want to be on Apo Island rather than making it a day trip from Dauin or Zamboanguita. Those who want early-morning site access before the day-trip boats arrive. Anyone seeking the most direct possible experience of a functioning community marine sanctuary with resident sea turtles and pristine coral.
