Overview

AivyMaes Divers Resort is a family-run SSI dive center and beachfront guesthouse on J. Basa Street in Dauin, Negros Oriental. Owner Mark runs the operation with a small team of divemasters trained as critter spotters.

Eleven rooms spread across native-style huts and a few AC units. Guests share a communal kitchen with free coffee, tea, and fresh bakery bread each morning.

AivyMaes sits directly on the beach, steps from the Dauin Marine Sanctuary. The house reef — AivyMaes Reef, Dauin North — is walk-in entry from the beachfront. Apo Island is 35–40 minutes by boat.

Dive Center & Operations

  • Training: SSI courses from Discover Scuba through Divemaster. PADI Open Water, Advanced, EFR, and Rescue also available. SSI Nitrox and specialty courses offered.
  • Equipment: Full rental gear. Nitrox surcharge applies. Own-gear divers get a 10% discount.
  • Boats: Bancas for coastal dives and Apo Island trips (2-dive and 3-dive options). Apo trips include meals and snacks.

Daily Experience

House reef dives start from the beach — gear up at the dive center, walk to the water, and enter over sand. No waiting for boats on shore dive days.

Surface intervals happen at the beachfront hammocks or shared kitchen. Coffee and drinking water flow all day. Bread arrives fresh from the local bakery each morning.

Apo Island trips run as full-day outings with meals included on the boat. Evenings are quiet — guests cook in the shared kitchen or walk to nearby restaurants along the beachfront. Mandarin fish dives run at dusk for guests who want one more session before dinner.
